Those three words have driven us over the last two years as we’ve launched Wild Goose. Having a great dining experience begins & ends with the food, the wine & the service.
Wild Goose presents American cuisine infused with simplicity, integrity and attention to detail. Wild Goose is located in Northern California, a region that produces and understands food like no other place in the world. We take advantage of our location to create food with the freshest ingredients. Simplicity is the key: we like to let each ingredient speak for itself. We believe that many times potentially great food gets caught up in its own cleverness and is overwhelmed by too many ingredients. Sometimes less really is more.
Wine that complements the food. There's something about wine created with respect for the flavor of soil in the grape that lends itself to food. We're excited about offering wines which showcase inventive winemaking from the New World alongside established producers and regions representing the best of tradition. Above all, we offer selections which, when paired with our cuisine, elevate both food and wine -- the ultimate goal.
Service can make-or-break a dining experience. In order to provide great service, we must cultivate a great staff that understands timing, the pairing of food and wine & above all, the ingredients that make up the sophisticated simplicity of our menu.

Fashioned after the sleek lines of the lake cruisers from the 1920's, The Goose's elegantly understated dining rooms revolve around light, water and wood with all points of view oriented toward Lake Tahoe. The stunning views along with the interior finishes, including mahogany, fine leather and polished steel, offer a comfortable, modern backdrop for an elegant dining experience.
Main dining room seats up to 100.
Upstairs dining room seats up to 40.
Downstairs dining room seats up to 16.
Directions from Truckee:
Take 267 South to Kings Beach. Turn right at the intersection of 267 & North Lake Boulevard heading towards Tahoe Vista. Wild Goose is located lake-side of North Lake Boulevard about 0.7 miles from the bottom of 267 in Kings Beach.
Directions from Tahoe City:
Take North Lake Boulevard east towards Tahoe Vista. Wild Goose is located lake-side of North Lake Boulevard.
Directions from South Lake Tahoe:
Take highway 50 towards Tahoe City. Stay on Highway 50 as it turns into North Lake Boulevard heading to Tahoe Vista. Wild Goose is located lake-side of North Lake Boulevard.
